| You have a fleet of ships and so does the computer. Your job is to marshal the firing patterns of your fleet to try to sink all of the computer's ships before it manages to sink yours.
Like all great battle strategies, there will be an element of luck involved in you eventually gaining victory but your skill at assessing the state of the battle would still be the central element in the eventual outcome.
