The Update Component enables the latest available updates to your software to be located and used. It works rather simple: you maintain a small XML document on your server where you specify the name of the application, the latest versionnumber and a URL where the latest version can be found. From within your application, you simply call a function from the Update Component DLL to see if a newer version exists. The Update Component can be implemented in your software within minutes. You can even choose to create your own small wizard using several functioncalls to the DLL, to provide a step-by-step guide for your end user.The Update Component package comes with a DLL, complete documentation about the functioncalls, an example XML document and a complete Visual C++ project that shows you how to use the component.
